In October 2016, Nestlé and R&R successfully launched a new joint venture in the ice cream and frozen food sector, creating the Froneri brand. Froneri combines Nestlé and R&R's activities in the ice cream market in Europe, the Middle East (excluding Israel), Argentina, Australia, Brazil, the Philippines and South Africa. It also includes Nestlé's European frozen food market (excluding the pizza and frozen food retail market in Italy) and the refrigerated dairy business conducted in the Philippines. Froneri currently operates in more than 20 countries worldwide and employs around 12,500 people. The company is headquartered in the UK.
