Meet the outstanding widely acclaimed 21st century composer Wieslaw Malucha.

Wieslaw Malucha

Wiesław Małucha - composer - is a graduate of the Fryderyk Chopin P.SZ.M. in Nowy Sącz in the piano class and the Faculty of Law at the University of Wrocław. He graduated from the Academy of Engineering and holds the rank of captain in the Polish Army. From 1989 to 1990 he was director of the Wrocław branch of the Polish Jazz Association. Since 1990 he has been running his own business in the catering and entertainment industry.

Since 2013, he has been a founder and board member of the "Foundation for Cultural Development in Wrocław", which has developed and implements projects such as: "Music of Wrocław", "Relaxing Journeys of the Explorer Musician" and "Wrocław - Capital of Music".

He is the initiator and co-founder in 2018 of the University Philharmonic in Wrocław, where he serves as programme director. For his cultural activities in the region, he was awarded the silver badge "Meritorious for Lower Silesia" by the Lower Silesian Regional Self-Government Assembly, from which the University Philharmonic in Wrocław received the "Silesia 2023" culture award in 2023.

In 2024, he initiated the creation of the Lower Silesian Opera, where he serves as director and programme director.

He is a member of the Society of Lovers of Wrocław. In 2022, he received a special award on the occasion of the Society's 65th anniversary.

He is a member of Lions Club International and has been awarded the 2019 Melvin Jones Scholarship and the 2022 'Amber Rose' for his cultural and social activities.

In 2012, Wiesław Małucha was voted by radio listeners and Internet users as the winner of the first edition of the "Piece of Wrocław" competition for his song "Pokochaj Wrocław" with his own music and lyrics.

In 2022, he was the winner of the international composition competition of the Vienna Academy of Classical Music 'Autumn - 2022'.

His music refers to a certain extent to classical music and is characterised by a wealth of original melodic ideas and interesting arrangement solutions, which, combined with pure and natural harmony and the warm timbre of the instruments, allow the listener to fully calm down and participate in a musical journey into unknown corners. This music can be confidently classified as healing to both body and soul, as confirmed by the numerous opinions of its listeners.

Wiesław Małucha's compositions have already been performed in Wrocław at, among other venues, the NFM, the Radio Wrocław Concert Hall, the Concert Hall of the Academy of Music in Wrocław, the Oratorium Marianum Auditorium, the Church of St Dorothy, Wacław and Stanisław, the White Stork Synagogue, the Music and Literature Club and the Garrison Club. Outside Wrocław - at the Lower Silesian, Zielona Góra and Kaliska Philharmonics, the University of Poznań, Legnica Cathedral, the Garrison Church in Jelenia Góra, the Basilica in Wambierzyce, the Church in Wielka Lipa, as well as at palaces: Staniszów, Pakoszów, Wojanów and the Korzkiew castle near Kraków.
